Dubai is creating a new destination for luxury cruises and yacht owners with the development of Dubai Harbour, Dubai Lighthouse and Emaar Beachfront. The project was presented by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid in 2017. It began with the construction of a 2-square-kilometer artificial island in the Gulf. The Dubai Harbour includes a terminal for cruises, marinas, commercial buildings, hotels, restaurants, and shopping facilities. This makes it more than just a regular harbor. The new development will be built alongside the neighboring Palm Jumeirah and Bluewaters islands.

Dubai Harbour

Dubai Harbor, is a central component of the “Dubai Tourism Vision 2020,” with the aim of making Dubai the leading tourist destination in the Middle East.

The Dubai Harbor features two passenger terminals that can accommodate 1.2 million visitors annually and a one-kilometer-long landing site that can accommodate up to three cruise ships at the same time. The terminals will include a range of leisure activities, shopping opportunities, and dining options in a maritime theme. The shipping company “Carnival Cooperation” has partnered with the project and will operate some of the largest and most luxurious cruise ships, including the Queen Mary 2.

Dubai Harbour, which spans 20 million square feet, is a glamorous maritime destination that has the capacity to berth 700 luxury yachts! The hub comes alive with its luxury hotels, restaurants bars, and cafes on site. The cruise ship terminal at Dubai Harbour can accommodate up to 1.2 million passengers yearly. There is also a plan for an 875,000 square-foot shopping mall to open within Dubai Harbour.

Dubai Harbor is divided into three marinas: Harbor Marina, Bay Marina, and Palm View Marina. These marinas will provide a total of 1100 berths for yacht owners and excursionists.. Each marina caters to a different target group based on the number and size of berths available.

Harbour Marina

The Harbour Marina is at the center of the Marina. It will be home to the iconic Dubai Lighthouse. Surrounded by glamourous restaurants and trendy cafes and retail facilities. With a total of 560 berths for yachts up to 35 meters in length, it will be the largest marina among the three. In phase two, more than 300 additional berths for yachts up to 30 meters in length will be added to the 560 berths created in phase one.

Bay Marina

Marina is the place for you. With two helipads to service this private marina! It will provide space for up to 180 yachts, with 45 berths for yachts up to 50 meters in length and 8 berths for yachts up to 100 meters in length. Additionally, the private marina will feature two helicopter landing pads, a crew fitness center, a crew lounge, and a bar for the crew members.

Emaar Beachfront

Palm View Marina

This smaller marina is dedicated to meeting the needs of the community and providing stunning views across the ocean towards The Palm. Palm View Marina has 37 berths for yachts. It is designed to cater to the local community and will be situated near the northern beach of Dubai Harbour, offering a great view of Palm Jumeirah and the northern promenade.

Dubai Lighthouse

The new architectural landmark is set to be one of the highest lighthouses in the entire world. Its purpose is to shine a light that will assist ships to navigate safely into the harbor. It features a smooth exterior which will be utilized as a screen. Inside the Dubai Lighthouse, there will be an exclusive 5-star hotel that will provide only the highest of standards as is expected throughout Dubai. The iconic marvel will also have a 360° viewing platform located at the top.

The Dubai Lighthouse will have a unique design and will not resemble traditional lighthouses found on the coasts of the North Sea or Baltic Sea. Instead of just a light at the top, the whole tower will be used as a large screen to display spectacular light shows using powerful projectors. The shape of the lighthouse was chosen to resemble a candle flame, symbolizing a light that illuminates the night. It will be a landmark and an attraction in itself.

Hotel and Observation Deck at The Lighthouse

The Dubai Lighthouse will feature an exclusive hotel that offers the highest standard of luxury. Guests will have the option to choose rooms with views of the open sea, the bustling harbor with its large cruise ships and luxurious yachts, or the impressive buildings in the surrounding area. For those who want to take it to the next level, the hotel will include a viewing platform at the top of the lighthouse, which will offer a 360-degree view of the entire city. This platform will provide visitors with a unique perspective and an unparalleled view of the metropolis.

From the top of the 150-meter-high Dubai Lighthouse, one can see the breathtaking attractions of the city. To the north, Palm Jumeirah can be seen up close. Further north, the World Islands can also be seen. To the northeast, the Burj al Arab can be seen with its sail-shaped silhouette. Continuing clockwise, the spectacular skyline of Dubai, including the famous Burj Khalifa, can be seen. To the south, the Ain Dubai, the world’s tallest Ferris wheel can also be viewed from the lighthouse.
