IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON

Imperial College London West London, campus in Kensington and White City

One of Europe’s TOP five universities, Imperial College focuses on science, medicine, technology and business. The university facilities include teaching hospitals and a research station. Imperial College London is very popular amongst international students. To demonstrate 59% of students at Imperial College come from 140 different countries to study.

While its main campus is in South Kensington, it has recently opened a campus at White City known as the innovation campus.

The notable buildings at South Kensington include the Business School, which is the main entrance to the college known as the Queen’s Tower. The campus is nestled in between London’s top landmarks, The Royal Albert Hall, The Natural History Museum, and the Science Museum. Its also a short walk away from Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens

The campus at White City is its second largest campus. It includes a biomedical center, research facilities, and invention rooms.

UCL – UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON

UCL is part of the University of London, it was initially established and opened as London University, this was the capital’s first-ever university institution. The university’s main campus is located in Bloomsbury Central London. UCL has very impressive alumni with 34 Nobel prize winners and 3 field medalists as of 2020. It has recently been announced that UCL is to be the hub of a new dementia research unit, which brings £250 million of funding to the university, £150 million of which comes from the Medical Research Council. UCL is a very large and comprehensive institution. It has a full variety of subjects with research as well as teaching for social sciences, biology, medicine, engineering as well as humanities. Henceforth there are currently 11 faculties that UCL consists of.

THE UNIVERSITY OF WESTMINSTER

University of Westminster Central London, Marylebone and Fitzrovia campus near Euston

A university with multiple campuses in Central London. The University of Westminster is located on Regents Street, Marylebone, Fitrozvia and Harrow. Furthermore the university also operates Westminster International University which is in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The campus at Regents Street consists of a group of buildings by its headquarters. This campus serves humanities, social sciences, and law. Accordingly, the Marylebone campus sits on Marylebone Street and is close to Baker Street station, it can be found across the road from Madame Tussaud’s. The Marylebone campus serves architecture and the built environment. The campus in Fitzrovia can be found in a modern glass building next to the BT tower. This is to serve computer engineering, science, and laboratories. The Harrow campus which is located out in zone 5 is dedicated to media, arts and design.

KINGS COLLEGE LONDON

There are five campuses of Kings College London. The historic campus is in The Strand in Central London, whilst there are three more campuses on the River Thames. Kings College London is also present in Oxfordshire and Cornwall for military education for professionals. Kings College holds the position of the UK’s 12th largest university when it comes to total enrolment.

Kings College consists of 9 faculties. The campus at The Strand houses, arts & humanities, business, Law, public policy, and social sciences as well as mathematical sciences. The closest tube stations to this campus are Charing Cross, Temple and Covent Garden. Whilst the faculty of life sciences, dental, and medicine can be found at the campuses on the South Bank of the River including Guys Campus.

LSE – LONDON SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS

London School of Economics can be found between Holborn and Covent Garden. Of the 11,000 students studying at LSE university, 70% are international students from overseas. One hundred and fifty-five nationalities have representation at LSE university. Despite being named London School of Economics the university consists of over 25 academic departments.

QUEEN MARY UNIVERSITY OF LONDON

Queen Mary University is a member of the University of London and dates back to 1785. It has five campuses which are located in East and Central London. The locations of the campuses are: Whitechapel, Mile End, Charterhouse Square, West Smithfield and Lincoln’s Inn. All together, Queen Mary consists of three faculties, the faculties of science and engineering, the faculty of humanities and social sciences and medicine and dentistry.

The faculty for law is based in Lincoln’s Inn Fields at Holborn. The school for medicine and dentistry is held in Farringdon and Whitechapel.

CITY, UNIVERSITY OF LONDON

City University has many campuses around London with its main campus and a few others situated in Clerkenwell. The City University is world known for its business school named Bayes Business School, formerly known as Cass Business School. Located in Finsbury, Bayes Business School has consistently ranked as a leading business school throughout the United Kingdom as well as Europe. The business school consists of three faculties: actuarial science, finance and insurance. It is extremely competitive to secure a spot at Bayes Business School.

Located next to Regent’s Park London Business School is in a prime location of London. The school has also acquired the Marylebone Town Hall and refurbished it to expand its teaching facilities, it spent £60 million on this. It later also acquired the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. The London Business School has a vast array of facilities which include a sports centre, a library, cafes and a restaurant.

The London Business School also has a second campus which is situated in Dubai! This is dedicated to the Dubai EMBA and executive education.

REGENT’S UNIVERSITY LONDON

Regents University in St Johns Wood, next to Baker Street and Marylebone by Regents Park

One of only five private universities in the United Kingdom, Regent’s University’s campus is situated at Regent’s Park Central London. The University was acquired by Galileo Global Education, therefore Regent’s University is now part of a network of 42 institutions and 80 campuses which are spread across 13 countries. It should be noted as such a large network, part of the network includes the Macromedia University of Germany and the Paris School of Business in France. There is a very wide array of courses that are on offer at Regent’s University such as fashion design, liberal arts as well as business.

RAVENSBOURNE UNIVERSITY LONDON

A digital media and design university, Ravensbourne University offers vocational courses which are in a number of different fields such as television, fashion, sound design and broadcast. The Ravensbourne University is situated in Greenwich, London.
